About Acne

Many people suffer from acne. This skin condition does not discriminate based on race, sex, or age, and it does not make a difference if a person lives in a tropical or cold climate. Typically, teens experience some degree of acne while their body chemistry changes during puberty. Hormones fluctuate, causing the skin to become confused and produce blemishes. Adults can experience acne as well; however, adult acne is usually less severe and can be triggered by varying means. Because the cause of acne is distinctive in each person, a dermatological exam is recommended to determine which treatment would be most effective. But, there are products on the market today that feature the most advanced in skincare technology and can virtually eliminate any signs of acne.

One of the newest forms of treatment for acne is incorporating powerful natural ingredients into products. In the past, most acne treatments included harsh chemicals that dried out the skin and caused redness and irritation. Now, reputable skincare companies are using ingredients like essential oils, vitamins, minerals, and herbs. With recent discoveries in science that prove that these ingredients can have lasting effects on acne, treatment products are utilizing their significant powers to give consumers a gentle, yet effective solution to blemishes. Natural elements in products usually work best for those that have acne caused by hormonal changes and/or an overproduction of oil by the sebaceous glands.

Other skincare companies are creating their own unique complexes to combat this skin condition. Those that simply have acne because of heredity will find that more powerful ingredients like salicylic acid, azelaic acid, benzoyl peroxide, and even sulfur-based chemicals have a more noticeable effect on their skin. Because these ingredients can be harsh on the skin, many acne products include soothing elements like chamomile or aloe vera as well.
